Jewelry has been an expression of who we are for over 130 000 years. We wear it as decoration, to denote our status, as a means of communication, for good luck, for religious reasons, to express our mood, style, or personality, or to remind ourselves of something. It’s a story we tell about ourselves, to show others who we are.

The earliest ornaments were made from shells, stones, feathers, eagle talons, teeth, bones, wood, or whatever else we could find in our surroundings that attracted our attention. Then, around 5000 years ago we started making jewelry from precious metals and gemstones. The decorations you choose to wear can be made of almost anything. The choice is yours. It could be symbolic, obvious to everyone, or subtle and meaningful only to you.
